Invitation – Singapore Veterans Cricket Sixes 2012

The Parrots embarked on our first migratory tour to sunny Chiang Mai on the weekend.

Nary a single one of us paid any heed to the fact that we were blissfully flying on Friday the 13th, and not one of us could see the nasty machinations that fate had in store for us over the next 48 hours.

The plan, patiently hatched and hurriedly executed, was to head up north to take part in a 40 over match at Prem, and a hangover 20/20 bash, the following day at the Gymkhana Club.

Parrots,

We will be having a warm up game on tour in Chon Buri. For your convenience, we have given a choice of three weekends (originally two weekends, but a third was asked for by many at training today).

They are the weekends of Oct 15th, Oct 22nd (RWC final on Sun), or Oct 29th

It will be a 35 over game on Sat, and Sun will be either a standard 20/20 or a veterans game for over 45 year olds. This will be decided by how many old bastards put their hands up. Therefore, please state your age when selecting your preferred weekend.

The club will be covering costs of the bus over the 2 days courtesy of our sponsor Carl Taylor with his company Fircroft. Sensational stuff Carl! This will be perfect for those that can’t be arsed driving to and fro.

Speaking of sponsors, the Regal guest house will be the accommodation of choice. Additionally, the bus will be leaving from here to the ground and back. We do encourage people to stay here, however, those wanting to stay elsewhere are obviously entitled to do so.

Fellas, this is a great opportunity to get into form heading into cricket season, showing the club your strengths and getting to know your fellow team mates. As such it is a male only affair.
